"Strawberry Cheesecake" Christmas ornament, stitched by mother, Nydia Goode
Every year... I pull out the strawberry ornaments
that my mother gave me year after year,
until she was no longer here to do so.
I cherish them.
As well as all the other pieces of Christmas that she stitched for me over the years.
There is also a little black dog, that my dear friend's mother stitched for our little schipperke, decades ago.
They all come out for these long nights
and radiate such beauty to be found in a simple gesture
and stitch of love.
