Haiku My Heart ~ Sprouting
OCTOBER 16, 2015
Tiny seeds sprouting...
from the dark into the light,
nourish our bodies...

Making your own sprouts helps to ensure their freshness.
Any type of bean or legume can be sprouted. I have a sprouting jar with a mesh
lid, but a regular mason jar with a mesh top fitted into the lid will do.
I used a mix (Azuki, Lentil, Mung, and Radish seeds) in the first two photos and broccoli seeds for the photo below.
Soak 2 tablespoons of your beans/legumes/seeds overnight in 2 cups of water.
Rinse well, drain, and place in a cool, dark place.
Rinse twice a day for four days.
Then... Voilá!
You have a delicious addition to your salads or meals that provide you with
proteins, B vitamins riboflavin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, thiamin
and niacin, and a lot of vitamin C,
as well as minerals ~ copper, iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc.
That's a lot
of life
in a little sprout!
