This is my offering for this tenth day of October
for Rebecca's '[La Calaca love](http://corazon.typepad.com/recuerda_mi_corazon)'
Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera visited my home town of Santa Rosa, CA and toured the home and gardens of Luther Burbank after his death in 1926. Frida did this painting in 1931. I have been fascinated by this portrait since seeing the original at one of the first US showings of Kahlo's art at a show at Fort Mason in San Franciso in 1986. I created this one word, building on the next word, description/poem for a talk that I gave in 2002.
