Wild Strawberries
JUNE 1, 2018
Since I was a child...
I have loved strawberries...
### **It is the first of June and the month of strawberries.**
And, how delighted am I to have these beauties,
growing wild in my garden
next to my labyrinth...
They beckon me to slow down and stop
and pop their luscious ripeness into my mouth that explodes with flavor
and the warmth of the sun,
as if I was eating sunlight, itself...
It seems a miracle,
how the tight, hard yellow fruit
blushes first with every shade of pink,
deepening into a fiery red of juicy deliciousness.
Hopefully,
this post will make it into your inbox this second day of the month.
I have changed newsletter carriers
and you have not received the last few posts.
Here they are if you would like to catch up...
